How To setup a zMailCloud IMAP Account in Mac Mail:

Launch Apple Mail:




Click on Mail  in the upper left corner of Mail.app, then select Preferences. Note: if setting up Mac Mail for the 1st time, select Add Other Mail Account:




In the Preferences window, click on Accounts:




In the Accounts pane, notice the + button in the lower left hand corner. Clicking on the + button will populate a new
window to add your new account. 

Select Add Other Mail Account as the account type:

Enter your account information in the Add Account fields, using your full email address in the email address field:

Full Name: your full name
Email address: your full zMailCloud email address
Password: your Zimbra password

Click Create

On the next screen, enter your incoming server information:

Incoming Mail Server Info:

Select IMAP as the account type
Incoming Mail Server: yourcustomaddress.zmailcloud.com*

*If you are unsure of your company's custom server address, contact your Domain Administrator, or the zMailCloud help desk.

User name: your full zMailCloud email address
Password: your password

Select Next

Outgoing Mail Server Info:

Description: zMailCloud outgoing server.
Outgoing mail server: Your custom login URL, i.e. yourcustromaddress.zmailcloud.com

*If you are unsure of your company's custom server address, contact your domain administrator, or the zMailCloud help desk.


Click Create

Congratulations!  Your account is now setup in Mac Mail.  

Additional Note: Syncing Sent messages & other folders

When you first setup Apple Mail to access your Zimbra account, you'll have two Sent message folders: one for your local mail, one for sent messages for your account on the Zimbra server. The local Sent messages folder will store copies of the mail you send from Apple Mail. The Sent message folder on the Zimbra server stores messages sent from the Zimbra web interface. To merge the contents of these folders and keep them in sync, please follow these steps.

1. Highlight your Zimbra Sent message folder in Apple Mail. This is not the 'paper airplane' icon labeled 'Sent' under Mailboxes, but appears below the local folders under your Zimbra IMAP folders:


3. Navigate to 'Mailbox' at the top of Apple Mail, select 'Use this Mailbox for' and choose 'Sent'. This will sync messages sent from Apple Mail to your account on the Zimbra Server, as well as any messages sent from the Zimbra web interface to your Apple Mail account:


Repeat this process to sync other mail folders such as Drafts, Trash and Junk folders.
