This article is to provide you step-by-step directions on how to sync your zMailCloud account with your iPad device.
zMailCloud’s ActiveSync feature is included free-of-charge with all zMailCloud Public & Community accounts.
Before creating your account, create a backup of your calendars and contacts as well as your iPad settings.
On the iPad, tap the “Settings” icon:
Click on “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”, then select "Add Account...":
Choose the option for “Microsoft Exchange”:
Enter the following information into these fields:
Email: your full zMailCloud email address
Password: your zMailCloud password
Once you have these fields complete, click the Next button on the top right hand corner. It will verify the account information and may give you an error that it cannot verify the certificate. Click the Accept/Continue button should it appear.
You will now see a field to enter your server information. Enter server.zmailcloud.com in the server address field and your full zMailCloud email address as your username. The domain field should be left blank.
It will then ask if you want to sync mail, contacts and calendars. Select the items you want to sync using the on/off buttons:
Click “Save”. (Please note that all contacts and calendar information will be wiped from the tablet and the information in your zMailCloud account will replace it.) The tablet will now pull all your data from the server and will wirelessly sync data from this point.
Multiple Calendar Sync
To view multiple calendars on your iPad, navigate to the Calendar application. In the top left corner, there is a back arrow marked Calendars. Click on Calendars to view your calendars. You can view calendars one at a time by clicking on each one individually or select ‘Show All Calendars’ to view all calendar data.
To view multiple address books (Groups) on your iPad, navigate to your contacts. In the top left corner, click Groups. Under Groups you can choose to view a specific address book of your choice.
A note about your inbox and filtering messages on your iPad
Many users use Microsoft Outlook/Exchange at work, or some other mail client such as Mail.app, and use its rules system to automatically separate incoming emails into different organizational folders. While the iPad can view all of these folders, only folders you select will trigger the iPad to alert you of a new message.
Settings >> Mail, Contacts, Calendars >> select your zMailCloud account >> Mail Folders to Push
Unfortunately, the flagging feature is not compatible with ActiveSync at this time.
Enabling ActiveSync (aka Zimbra Mobile licensing)

A note about Personas (identities) and your iPad
Want to change the email address you’re sending from on your iPad?
You may set the canonical address in the zMailCloud domain administration panel (https://zimbraadmin.01.com/zimbraAdmin/) to reflect the email address you’d like to send “from” on your iPad. You must also change the Mail setting to reflect the email address you’d like to send from:
Settings >> Mail, Contacts, Calendars >> select your zMailCloud account >> select Account >> Email
Email should be set to: email@example.com
